Herringbone Parquet Flooring

Herringbone parquet flooring is the most popular floor patterns as it introduces immense amount of sophistication to a room. Herringbone pattern is used beyond the flooring arena; it is found in many industries from architecture to fashion. The herringbone pattern is named after the herring fish because of the way the bones are organized along the fish's spine.

The rectangular parquet planks are laid alternately at a 90-degree angle to resemble a broken zig zag effect. Not to be confused with chevron pattern where the planks' ends are cut at an angle to create a perfect arrow point. Darker shades are typically found in vintage homes, but lighter tones suit just as well for modern decors.
