SOUND PROOFING WOODEN FLOORS

Sound transmission through the floor is a common noise problem in multi-family dwellings such as condominiums, apartments and town houses.

When using an engineered board the most common method is to float the floor by gluing the tongue and groove and lay an acoustic sub-floor mat that ranges from a basic 10mm to 15mm foam thickness. This can absorb part of the sound through it high density which has been proven to have high acoustic properties and comply with UK building regulations.

ACCORUB®

Accorub® is an acoustic mat, produced from foamed rubber granules that are bonded with a high-quality polyurethane based adhesive. Additives added to the system optimise the acoustic and mechanical properties. Due to the specific open-celled structure of the granules, very good acoustic properties are obtained. Accorub® acoustic mats exist in different thicknesses (10 to 150mm) with densities starting at 120 kg/m3.
