Solar-Tec began as a residential solar installation division of electrical contractor W.R. Casteel Company in 2010 with a geographic focus in western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia.

After W.R. Casteel Company was acquired in early 2011, Solar-Tec changed its focus to commercial, industrial and utility scale solar projects with a national geographic focus.

In early 2015, SolarCast, LLC (a renewable energy project developer and products manufacturer) acquired the branding rights to Solar-Tec and spun off its renewable energy project development to a new division branded as Solar-Tec.

Solar-Tec has expanded its services portfolio from small to medium solar and wind installations to include developer services, EPC services, installation services and O & M services for small to medium scale solar, wind, hybrid, energy storage, telecommunications energy and EV charging station systems.

Solar-Tec continues its focus on commercial, community, governmental, industrial, institutional, non-profit and utility scale customers across North America.
