Almost all the plastic in the world (99%) is made from oil. Damir Perkic herself worked for years in the plastic industry and was very disappointed by the use of oil. Together with his partner Wouter Moekotte (founder Bio Futura) he developed a smart way to produce sustainable plastic products from natural, renewable materials.

[email protected]The mission of BE O is to accelerate the transition from oil plastics to naturally renewable bioplastics. We do this by simply offering uniquely designed reusable products made from bioplastics that are 100% recyclable. Currently we produce over 311 million tonnes of plastic every year and more than 99% of these plastics are made from fossil oil. As we all know fossil materials are not here forever and are one of the causes of global warming. I know it's possible to make plastics out of renewable materials en with BE O we want to accelerate that transition. Our first product is called the BE O bottle. It's a reusable water bottle made from the residual current of sugarcane. It's 100% recyclable, dishwasher proof and it 94% biobased.
