Eco-friendly Swimwear

Company profile

We are two sisters, Áine and Sally Anne, who grew up swimming competitively in North West Donegal, Ireland. We have always had a great love of water and swimming, whether that is in a swimming pool or the sea.

Donegal is a stunning place, with a rugged coastline and enchanting landscape. It was named "coolest place on the planet" by the National Geographic Traveller and we want to keep it that way. As Donegal’s popularity as a tourist destination increased, it really heightened our desire to protect what we have, be eco-aware and a desire to live more sustainably. We searched the Irish market for sustainable, recycled Swimwear but could not find Irish brands.

From our many years of swimming, we know a lot about Swimwear. We wanted something that looks and feels good and does not fade after a few swims. We identified a beautiful Italian regenerated nylon called Econyl®. It is strong, durable and flexible. It makes us feel good, while doing our bit to protect the planet we live in. We brought Econyl® to Donegal and designed Swimwear that ticks all of the boxes for us. So began Kahm Sustainable Swimwear......

We are committed to Sustainability throughout our processes.

Our core values are authenticity and freedom. We practice what we preach.

We hope you love Kahm Sustainable Swimwear as much as we do.

Le grá,

Áine & Sally Anne

The Fabric

Kahm Sustainable Swimwear uses Carvico Vita fabric which is a sustainable techno-fabric, made from ECONYL® regenerated nylon that turns waste problems into fashion and interior solutions.

ECONYL® regenerated nylon is made from waste, otherwise polluting the Earth, such as old carpets, fishing nets and fabric scraps. It is exactly the same as virgin nylon and it can be recycled, recreated and remoulded infinitely.

The Packaging

Our Sustainable Swimwear is delivered in a light-weight bio-poly mailing bag. It is made from biodegradable resin using ivory toned starch. As well as being biodegradable, it is also reusable and compostable.

Our packages also include a small card that we source through TheFactory.ie which uses recycled paper and plant-based ink.
