Ten years ago, Jaydeep, on his journey across rural India with Honeybee Network, found a lack of awareness on menstrual hygiene among girls and women. This experience motivated him to form Aakar Innovations to create awareness and access to affordable, high-quality, eco-friendly menstrual hygiene products and empower women and girls in developing countries globally.

In 2013, Aakar became India’s first company to produce ~100% compostable sanitary pads- Anandi, along with providing employment opportunities to thousands of women in rural India, Africa. Anandipads have made the disposal of pads green and eco-friendly.

Bio Super Absorbent

Bio-Super Absorbent used in Anandipads comes from natural resources (plant cellulose) thus free from harmful chemicals and protects your skin from any rashes,irritations, infections & other diseases. It’s also certified Compostable as per ISO-17088.

Anandi is made of GOTS certified 100% organic cotton top layer, Plant-based Bio-Super Absorbent from natural sources. It is free of harmful chemicals, synthetic fragrances, artificial dyes, dioxin so that you do not have to worry about skin rashes, irritation, infections, and exposure to carcinogens. The multi-layer ultra-thin Anandi pads have a breathable bottom layer for natural airflow, and naturally super absorbent with leak-proof sidewalls for a clean, hygienic, and worry-free experience.

Good for the Earth

Anandi Pads, wrappers, disposal bags are certified compostable as per IS/ISO-17088 international compostable standard. This confirms, it will compost in 90-180 days under composting conditions and becomes manure. The outer packaging is also made of recycled paper!
