Achievements
More information:
The scope of certification includes MastaShield, SpanShiled and WaterShield plasterboards. The products have successfully passed the GreenTag Health and Ecotoxicity Risk Assessment Process and no issues of concern or red lights comments exist regarding the toxicity of the products. Boric acid used in the SpanShield, WaterShield and MastaShield plasterboard is associated with R60, R61 risk phrases (may impair fertility, may cause harm to the unborn baby). This ingredient is on the Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) list. Knauf has provided a declaration that boric acid will be phased out in 2019. Due to the fact that boric acid is bonded with the plasterboard, there is very rare possibility that end users will be exposed to risks. The risks are most likely to happen during the manufacturing process. Both the boric acid supplier and plasterboard manufacturer have proper Occupational Health and Safety System in place. Therefore, the occupational risks are mitigated.
