Local Councils and Municipalities often have obligations to recycle their waste wood volumes under EU Regulations. These regulations influenced a decision by the UK Government, who have now set a scale of targets for each region, to ensure recyclable waste streams are diverted away from landfill sites.

The regulations state that recyclable material should ideally have another use as a ‘product’, as opposed to being combusted in Energy via biomass fed power stations, South West Wood Products Ltd is one of the largest and most successful recyclers of local authority waste wood material ensuring that over 100,000 tonnes per annum is turned from a waste back to a product.

With this in mind South West Wood Products are able to offer significant recycling percentages to our suppliers once the material has been supplied to a panel board mill. Comprehensive reporting for waste data flow and compliance is provided as standard on a quarterly basis to ensure our customers can evidence that the material has been recycled into panel board manufacturers.
