Everybody admires that hardwood appearance. But if your budget cannot accommodate it, laminate flooring is a suitable alternative in Singapore. It has a hardwood-like appearance and is less expensive. And it gets even better when you hear that you may install it on any pre-existing subfloor.
Laminate flooring consists of a backing layer, inner core, pattern layer, and wear layer. The backing layer is water resistant, offering great protection to the subfloor as well as the laminate. You can incorporate texture on the pattern layer. Finally, the wear layer is the topmost layer.
How to Select Laminate Flooring
The length of time a laminate flooring can last depends on its AC rating. This is a standard system used to gauge its durability. The AC rating system takes into consideration, among other factors, laminate resistance to abrasion, moisture, impact, and stains. Using this system, you may select AC 1 laminate for a low traffic area like your bedroom. AC 2 rated laminate is good for moderate traffic floors. On the other hand, AC 5 is ideal for use on a heavy traffic commercial area.
