Green Building Certification
GreenRE is one of the leading green building rating tools in Malaysia. We conduct assessment and certification for green buildings and townships in Malaysia. In GreenRE, green buildings and townships will be first assessed by our internal assessors and the assessment results will be reviewed and assessed by independent reviewers. For projects with Gold or Platinum rating, two independent reviewers will be engaged to ensure that the green building projects are eligible for the top two ratings.
We have worked on more than 100 high performance green building projects or townships with GFA (gross floor area) in excess of 50 million sf. Among some of the main projects that have registered with us for green building assessment are Merdeka PNB 118 (KL118), Forest City, SP Setia Headquarter, GTower, The Light Penang, EPF building (Kwasaland), Ibu Pejabat RISDA, Straits Quays, Centro Mall, Eco Business Park I & II, Uptown and WKL Hotel. Merdeka PNB 118 (KL118) is a 118 storey, 682m megatall skyscraper in Malaysia. It will be taller than KLCC twin-tower as it will be the tallest building in Malaysia and third tallest building in the world when it is completed. The tallest building in the World now is Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
GreenRE green building certifications are recognised by authorities in Malaysia such as KeTTHA, MGTC, MIDA, IRDA and the local authorities. With GreenRE green building certification, owners of buildings are eligible to apply for tax incentive or investment tax allowance (ITA) from MIDA and MGTC.
By adopting the GreenRE criteria, property developers and building owners develop high performance green buildings and high performance green townships which are highly energy, water and resources efficient. High performance green buildings and townships have lower long term operating costs and thereby reduces the living expenses of the building users. GreenRE being a Malaysian-developed rating tool enhances the country’s competitiveness and standing in the international arena.
