Grease Trap Waste Collection Service

iTreats range of vechicles have been selected in a process that encompases the size and capacity of the loads to reduce the amount of fossil fuels required. Load quantities that can be carried range from 2 tonnes to 22 tonnes.

All Grease Trap waste is filtered using a three-stage filter to remove any particulate matter i.e. plastics prior to entering the Receival Tank. The waste is then transferred to settling tanks. The tanks are allowed to settle for 48 hours to achieve a better separation of the aqueous content from the sludge/cooking oil. After two days settling the bottom layer, sludge containing decomposed food waste, flour and other carbon rich material, is pumped to the Sludge Storage Tank. The sludge is then sent for analysis at a NATA approved laboratory before being transferred into road tankers for soil amendment.

The middle layer, aqueous content, is pumped to the DAF treatment storage tank before being further treated in the DAF before going to Trade Waste. The top layer, oils, lipids/fats, is then transferred into heating vessels where it is agitated and heated for a further 48 hours to separate the cooking oil from the fats/lipids. The cooking oil rises to the top and is then skimmed off and sent to cooking oil storage tank. This oil is then sent for processing in the soap manufacturing industry, stock feed or biodiesel projects.
