Description

The demand to lower increasingly expensive energy costs and move towards a sustainable future have made business energy assessments extremely important and, for some companies, a legal requirement.

Beyond imply identifying main sources of energy use, our energy assessment will seek to prioritise energy uses according to the most cost effective opportunities for energy savings. Our energy assessments are designed to help businesses manage their energy consumption, become more energy efficient and lower both their energy bills and carbon footprint.

Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS)

ESOS is the UK’s response to Article 8 of the Commission’s Energy Efficiency Directive. The aim is to cut carbon emissions by requiring large businesses to identify energy reduction measures and make energy savings.

The scheme affects businesses with more than 250 employees or that have a turnover of more than €50m (around £40m) and balance sheet exceeding €43m at 31st December 2015. Companies that fit this criteria are now required to produce detailed reports on their energy use every four years, and will be expected to implement improvements in line with the findings from the ESOS audit.

The audit is carried out by an approved ESOS consultant and involves looking at how the specific business uses energy, including how energy is used in buildings, transport and industrial operations based on an analysis of energy data and site survey.

Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) will tell you how energy efficient your home or business premises is: its level of carbon emissions and also how expensive it is to heat and light.  EPCs are useful to identify ways in which to improve energy efficiency and how to save money on energy bills.

Environmental Energies will visit your premises and conduct an audit of your current and future energy requirements, identify the areas where there is potential to reduce grid consumption, and provide a bespoke renewable energy solution tailored to meet your specific needs. We will provide you with details of all energy efficiency and renewable energy options available to you, as well as the potential costs, savings and returns for each option. This may consist of only one green energy solution, but often it becomes even more effective by using a combination of renewable energy technologies.

Our Assessor will explain all of the options available to help your business embrace energy efficiency, as well as discuss with you the government incentives linked with each renewable energy technology. Once we’ve carried out a full energy assessment, we will then be able to provide you with the most appropriate solution for your business.
