Cupressus macrocarpa Goldcrest, known as the Golden Monterey Cypress, makes a fine coastal conifer, grown either as a hedge or as a specimen tree.
Developed in Truro in the 1940s, its golden evergreen foliage is most vivid in the spring. It has a narrow oval habit when young that broadens with age.
A fine tree for a garden, Cupressus macrocarpa Goldcrest provides a lovely contrast against darker textures in the landscape and it thrives on most free draining soils.
