8" Bamboo Saucer

Plastic free saucer made from bamboo and rice for both indoor and outdoor use. Usage of 5 years+ and compostable once no longer in use. 8” Saucer currently available in traditional terracotta and sage green. They are sold individually (pot sold separately).

Greenhouses might be made of glass but they are full of plastic pots and trays. Now Haxnicks Bamboo Trays, Pots and Saucers allow you to decrease the amount of plastic used. They are plastic free and an environmentally friendly alternative to single use plastic pots. Made from sustainable bamboo and rice they can be used year after year. Finally, when you need to dispose of them they can be put on the compost heap.

It’s estimated that 500 million plastic plant pots are sold every year. The majority are sent to landfill or are incinerated – very little is recycled and there are few facilities to do so. A large amount of fossil fuel is used in the production of plastic pots, and they take around 500 years to decompose and even then they only break down into micro plastics. Haxnicks Bamboo Pots once broken up in active compost will decompose in 6 to 12 months.

Bamboos are some of the fastest-growing plants in the world. Some species can grow 91cm in a 24-hour period, a rate of almost 4 cm an hour. This makes the material truly sustainable.
