Could seaweed replace plastic packaging?

According to environmental sources Over the last decade the world has become increasingly alarmed at the amount of plastic in the oceans. More than 8 million tons of it ends up in the sea every year. Pollution at this level could well result in more plastic than fish by 2050.

Plastic eventually turns in to Nano and Micro plastic which the sea animals mistake for food and as a result 25% of fish in the market is contaminated with plastic. Food packaging alone is over a third of ocean’s plastic waste according to a report from Indonesia an Indonesian inventor David who is the founder of a socially responsible enterprise called “Evoware” has found a unique solution to the problem of plastic food packaging.

The 25-year-old says using seaweed instead of plastic could cut down plastic waste significantly.
