Step 1. Preparation
The surface must be dry and at room temperature. Warm up the surface if necessary.

Step 2. Cleaning
Thoroughly clean the area to be repaired with the Cleaner. Allow to dry for approximately 30 seconds before filling.

Step 3.
Dependent on the colour of the stone, fill the damaged area either with the REPAIRLUX Filler Black or Transparent for Natural and Artificial Stone (inherent colour comes through). Attach Cannula to syringe first.

Step 4. Spreading
Use the Applicator Instrument to spread the filler evenly over the damaged area while intensifying the colour of the damaged area and removing any air bubbles.

Step 5. Smoothing
Cover the filler area with the Plastic Film and press on slightly. Do not press into the damage.

Step 6. Curing
Switch on Compact Light and place it over the damaged area and harden material alongside the scratch for approximately 30 seconds per square cm.

Step 7. Levelling
Use the Metal Planer with quick and short movements to strip off excess filler material. After use, clean the Planer with the Cotton Cloth.

Step 8. Sanding
Now sand the damaged area with Micro Sanding Paper. Start from 2400, 3200, 4000 grads with water (stretch the Sanding Paper over the Felt Pad without creases). Afterwards, dry the area well with a Cotton Cloth. Note: After use, wash Sanding Paper thoroughly and allow to dry.

Step 9. Polishing
Apply Polishing Paste to the dry surface with the Felt Pad. If the desired sheen has not been achieved, the polis once more again. Note: Alternatively, you may also work mechanically using a felt wheel. After polishing, wipe the area over with a dry cloth.

There are many situations where sanding has caused damages on wooden flooring, stairs and furniture surfaces. With these damages that are caused a lot of professionals and tradesman think that sanding it out is the only way. That is wrong. The amount of time and money spent on sanding theses damages is a lot for the result brought by doing so.

Since sanding in real wood surfaces still shows the natural fibres of the wood because it is more or less surface damages, then you must use a product that allows these natural fibres come through so the scratches are not visible anymore. One way is by using a product that is transparent and can essentially replicate the wood fibre. Our Felt Touch-Up pens are perfect product that use the transparent colours need to replicate the wood fibre properly. Depending on the shade of colour of the wood, then you will need a specific colour allowing the colour match to be perfect.

One of the cool things about using products that have transparency to them is, that they are perfect for scratches, holes and abrasions on genuine wood surfaces as they dye into the surface. This creates an affect almost hiding the damage, which then the damage can be filled with transparent wax after to level off. Transparent wax’s are really handy when it comes to repairs where the timber needs to be reflected through. Examples of where clear wax’s are used such as, dents and sanding scratches that actually let the wood reflect through.

These are some steps to follow when using certain Felt Touch-Up Pens:

  • Dyeing of Finest Scratches and Abrasions: Touch-up with fine strokes and dots. Important: Do not paint! Firmly replace cap immediately after use.

  • Colour Correction: If too much dye has been applied (appears too dark), tone down by slightly wiping with Wire Wool after dye has begun to dry.

  • Preparation of Surfaces with Deep Scratches, Holes and Abrasions: Remove all loose particles, first. Slightly press damage edges round.

  • Dyeing of Deep Scratches, Holes and Abrasions: Stretch a cloth over the forefinger, dampen with dye and dab onto the light-appearing area.

  • Important: If the lacquer application is too wet, colour will soak into the wood and will make the area turn dark! Colour Correction in the Depth: If the edge/substrate has soaked too much colour, remove the dark areas by scratching with a chisel and re-dye with a lighter colour shade.

The area to be repaired must be cleaned, dried and free of grease. Remove any loose or sticking out parts of tile prior to the repair. If the damage is less than 2 mm, we recommend drilling the hole deeper. By having more surface area you'll provide the wax the area it needs to adhere to the tile.

Step 2. Melting
Activate the melter for 30 seconds and touch the melter tip into the Ceramic Filler stick matching your colour of tile. Best tip: use two 3 colours for the base colour and add small dot on top in blending.

Step 3. Filling
Apply this moltern filler mixture over and onto the damage area using the tip as a shovel, as the hard wax can become very liquid like. Over fill the area slightly. The wax is completely dry with in seconds and warm to touch. After 1 minute it is completely hardened.

Step 4. Levelling
Remove the excess filler and use the serated teeth on the Applicator. You can also use the front flat edge of the applicator in a fast motion to take wax away.

Step 5. Adjust Colour
Add small dots on top of the damge to replicate the different colours in the tile and use the curved edge to blend in.

Step 6. Degreasing
Use the grey pad to degrease the damage and  the surrounding area with light pressure.

Step. 7 Apply the Sealing Pen
Use a the cloth and pre squeeze some sealer onto the cloth to allow the tip to become wet. Adjust amount on tip and apply to the damage. Use the Green and white pad to adjust for High gloss or Matt finish.
