Formerly known until 2002 in Vietnam as Morning Star Cement Ltd., Holcim Vietnam was registered in February 1994 as a joint-venture company between Holcim Ltd. and Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (VICEM) that respectively contributed in the Company 65% and 35% of its charter capital. Holcim Vietnam currently employs around 1,300 people at its 4 technologically advanced cement production sites and many modern ready-mix concrete batching plants in addition to the HCMC Office. Lafarge commenced manufacturing operations in Vietnam in 1993 with a Joint Venture in ready mix concrete. Since 2006, Lafarge has further developed its’ presence with a cement grinding station in Dong Nai and a network of 4 ready-mix plants surrounding Ho Chi Minh city. In global scale, Holcim and Lafarge completed their historic merger, founding LafargeHolcim with a combined experience of over 180 years in the cement, concrete, and aggregates sectors to create the leading company in the building materials industry. LafargeHolcim is comprised of over 115,000 employees and operate in 90 countries around the world. As wholly owned subsidiaries, now Holcim Vietnam share the vision and mission with the LafargeHolcim Group, to ensure the consistency of our global identity and our delivery standard. The company currently has about 1,300 employees working at five plants and cement grinding plant with main offices in Ho Chi Minh City.
