Built in 1995, The Sukau Rainforest Lodge is perched on the bank of the Kinabatangan River in Borneo, one of Asia's most important waterways, offering guests an experience where both luxury and nature go perfectly hand in hand.

The Kinabatangan River has one of the highest concentration of wildlife in Borneo and is home to various species of mammals, including the endangered Orangutans and elusive Bornean pygmy elephants. This makes it the ideal escape for nature and wildlife enthusiasts, as well as avid birders and photographers alike.

Sukau Rainforest Lodge was the first lodge in the area designed based on ecotourism principles. The lodge provides a great wildlife experience to tourists while preserving the Kinabatangan flood-plain. It embraces conservation, community development and sustainable tourism as part of its green policies. Besides that, the lodge works closely with its non-profit arm BEST Society, which carries out conservation and community development efforts in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo.
